SERGI CONSERVATOR SHUTTER Type TL
Essential fire protection for transformer safety
When transformers explode after short-circuits, the SERGI CONSERVATOR SHUTTER Type TL isolates the conservator when an abnormal flow is detected for preventing the conservator oil to feed the consecutive oil fire.
The SERGI CONSERVATOR SHUTTER Type TL is a flow sensitive shutter valve:
- Rapid Isolation: Quickly and effectively isolates the oil in the conservator tank when abnormally high oil flow is detected. This can be caused by a ruptured transformer tank, an open valve, a significant pipe leak, or a damaged radiator.
- Bidirectional Flow: Allows oil to flow in both directions when transformers are in normal operation with oil temperature and volume variations due to transformer power or outside temperature changes.
Characteristics of the SERGI CONSERVATOR SHUTTER Type TL:
- Market-Exclusive Testing: The only shutter on the market tested under transformer insulation rupture conditions. Live test certificates are available upon request.
- Self-Contained and Mechanical: Fully mechanical design requires no external power source.
- Commissioning-Free: Ready to operate immediately without any need for commissioning settings.
- Integrated Alarm System: Equipped with a magnetic switch that sends an alarm to the plant control room when the TL closes.
The SERGI CONSERVATOR SHUTTER Type TL use is frequently recommended on electric utilities in earthquake and hurricane-prone areas, where movement often leads to ruptured or leaking transformer conservator pipes.
